Hi! I'm Kate - an intuitive, medicine woman, and guide for embodied Presence
Are you a compassion warrior, culture worker, and rebel who cares deeply about humanity;
who's tired of doing all the “right things” and still getting what you’re trying to avoid;
and who feels trapped between burning it all down or dying but would rather be wildly, and sacredly alive?
I'm an animist and ancestral wisdom guide; ceremonialist, and empath. And I love guiding other humans who want to use their burnout and purpose anxiety as a jumping-off point to journey into their shadows and the shadows of modern society in order to de-armor their hearts; remember a deeper, wilder sense of belonging to the world; and reclaim the rich and sacred spark of their aliveness.
This newsletter contains wisdom nuggets, podcast episodes, and invitations to paid and free offerings from my business. All in support of remembering a more animist and land-based culture; holding firm to our humanity in a dehumanizing world; and living with compassion, vulnerability, and reverence.

I pulled a tarot card for us for September...
Published 11 months ago • 4 min read
Dear ones -
Happy beginning of September and New Moon time.
I'm going to aim for an email at the beginning of each month with an overview of anything coming up. This month, the monthly overview email happens to also coincide with a new podcast episode drop!
A Tarot Card for September:
I was doing a card drawing for a “Year-of-Tarot” member today and felt inspired to pull a card for all of us for the month:
Card from Shadowscapes Tarot by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Barbara Moore
I always encourage folks who get my readings to look at the card themselves first and notice what comes up in their bodies. What emotions or sensations are stirred? What thoughts and stories seem to pop to mind? What do you find yourself repelled by or drawn to? It’s all part of noticing how the images and archetypes of the cards are wanting to work with us.
Now for my interpretation(s): Aces mark beginnings and cups usually have to deal with emotions, the flow of life, creativity, the subconscious, etc. As I look at this picture the first big theme I sense is uncertainty with a dash of victimhood. And some fear of vulnerability, fear of change and beginnings. Perhaps we feel overwhelmed. I see the groups and clusters all looking like they’re whispering to each other, trying to find something or someone to lean on. While we can’t ignore our emotions, nor do we want to get carried away by them. There’s an art to balancing riding the ripples and causing waves. I sense this month will invite us into discerning relationship - where are we participating in dividing ourselves from others and where do we need to let go of familiar relationships to find new possibilities? Something is stirring and we’re on the edge of a precipice. Another invitation I sense here is to look deeper and not turn away. Conversely, some of you may resonate with the warning to not get caught up in an illusion. Old stories are full of cautions about staring into a reflection and forgetting to look around or engage with life. We're only ever seeing the smallest part of the big picture.
I look forward to seeing how this prediction plays out this month and welcome hearing from you if this lands either now, or later. Or, if it diverges from your own sense, I welcome hearing that, too.
A New Podcast Episode:
Have you found yourself thinking, “I can either burn it all down or die,” yet both of those options feel too costly?
While that may feel like an incredibly uncomfortable and desperate, or even hopeless, moment (I know, I’ve been there); I offer it’s actually a pivotal and precious one. It’s aliveness inviting you back.
In this episode I share what I see as being the case in those moments, the nervous system and whole soulful-human context, and what I believe the best next step is so you can set yourself up to engage with the gifts of this crossroads, this realignment.
What do you think? Is this accurate to your experience? Does creating space make sense? Does it leave you with more questions? If so, I’d love to hear.
Coming up this week, on September 4th. A PWYC offering, this is like monthly office hours - a great place to come by and ask questions and get some coaching, mini energy healing, or hear my perspective on something you’re grappling with. Only caveat is this is a group gathering, so it has to be something you’re OK with sharing with those attending.
Last week we wrapped the first six-month cohort of Sanctuary and it was so sweet to pause for a moment and take stock. We reflected together on:
how this has become a bright spot in everyone’s month;
how good it felt to have a space to show up in that wasn’t about doing but was about connecting heart-to-heart with other amazing, soulful humans;
how nourishing it felt to have a place to share and listen and to see connected patterns within our own lives and what others are also experiencing.
Participants appreciated the balance of structure and flow; of how the myths and folktales seemed to align beautifully with their lives and shares in ways which felt supportive and illuminating.
We also noticed how the feeling tone of Sanctuary evolved with the seasons and through the year.
This next cohort, open for registration now, will take us through the darkening time in the northern hemisphere and into the beginning stirrings of Spring. I suspect it will feel like gathering in a sacred cave, around the warm glow of a fire.
If this speaks to you, we’d love to have you join us from late September to late February.
Finally; 1:1
I do have a few more spaces for 1:1 work right now. These sessions are a great way to commit to your own aliveness - especially if you’re feeling caught between running away from your life or dying in it and you don’t want to do either but can’t seem to see another way. If that sparks some curiosity, or a ‘yes’ of some kind in you, you’re welcome to let me know. I’m happy to chat with you about whether we’re a right fit at this time (and no, that’s not euphemism for “say all the ‘right’ things to make you think we’re a fit”).
with much love,
Kate
P.S. I'm also starting to trial some new material in the form of a signature workshop I'm hoping to run 10 times before the end of the year and it would be so helpful to get any of you who are interested an available to come be a guinea pig so I can see how it lands and make sure it all fits in the time allotment, etc. I'll let you know when I have some times picked out and if you're able and willing, great!

Hello, dear ones - Today was moving day - I left where I’ve been for the last three and a half weeks in North Cork and headed to Dublin for a few nights in preparation for departing Ireland and heading back to the UK (Wales) early next week. I remember when I was going through my vinyasa yoga teacher training, my teachers, Christen and Preston Scott, would remind us that one of the things we practice in vinyasa yoga is transitioning. Unlike many other forms of yoga, vinyasa encourages flowing...
Dear ones - We have a little influx of new folks to the list here: welcome! When I was younger and I'd travel, I would send long notes out with impressions and experiences from the road. Recently, I've been experimenting with bringing that version of me back and interweaving stories of my nomad trails and pilgrimages with my practices in animism, spirituality, folk tales and traditions, and ancestral wisdom. All to wonder how do we shift from burnout to thriving in these modern times? Today...
Happy Northern Hemisphere, Gregorian Calendar Beltane, everyone! (whew -that’s a mouthful) In Irish Gaelic (and Scottish Gaelic though with a slightly different spelling), the etymology of Beltane breaks down something like this: “Beal” meaning either “bright” or possibly a reference to “Bel”, a Sun God and “tine” meaning “fire”. And in both Irish and Scottish Gaelic, the entire month of May is known as Béaltaine (that’s the Irish spelling). So we’re honoring the start of a longer season and...
