happy equinox! (a quick note about a bonus episode)

Happy Equinox, dear Wolf Pack!

Just a super quick note to let you know I’ve got a bonus podcast episode for you about this moment of balance between the darkness and the light.

Tune in and you’ll hear:

  • how the season cycles correspond to our breath;
  • the metaphor of planting seeds for new growth;
  • why tender, fluffy new things may not always be an appropriate metaphor for the process of birth and rebirth;
  • the potent portal that is equinox combined with astrological new year and the beginning of eclipse season;
  • and some ways you can tune in and align yourself with this nature-based moment in time.

May we find the rest and the down cycles as we stretch toward the light.

May the soils we tend nurture the seeds of compassion, connection, and freedom in ourselves, our communities, and the wider world.

May we not forget that a life is just one piece of the greater churning of Aliveness and may we be in service to the holy tension of opposites, as Love.

Are you celebrating or engaging in ritual around the equinox in some way? I'd love to hear.

- Kate

P.S. Only one week left of enrollment for the current cohort of Sanctuary. So if you’re keen to deepen into ritual and conversations like this with like-hearted humans; wanting to journey with ancestrally-inspired processes of living, resting, relating, and becoming wise; I would join now.

Feel free to write back with any questions about the membership. <3

Hi! I'm Kate - an intuitive, medicine woman, and guide for embodied Presence

Are you a compassion warrior, culture worker, and rebel who cares deeply about humanity; who's tired of doing all the “right things” and still getting what you’re trying to avoid; and who feels trapped between burning it all down or dying but would rather be wildly, and sacredly alive? I'm an animist and ancestral wisdom guide; ceremonialist, and empath. And I love guiding other humans who want to use their burnout and purpose anxiety as a jumping-off point to journey into their shadows and the shadows of modern society in order to de-armor their hearts; remember a deeper, wilder sense of belonging to the world; and reclaim the rich and sacred spark of their aliveness. This newsletter contains wisdom nuggets, podcast episodes, and invitations to paid and free offerings from my business. All in support of remembering a more animist and land-based culture; holding firm to our humanity in a dehumanizing world; and living with compassion, vulnerability, and reverence.

Hello, dear ones - In the Gaelic tradition there are stories of epic battles between the Cailleach (the old woman of winter and creator of the land) and Bride (youthful goddess of summer and the love the fosters all growing things). It's part of how the ancestors of those lands were in relationship with this Spring period where the weather swings back and forth between icy snow and howling winds... and warm sun, moist soil where green shoots start appearing, and the smell of decay and new...

Hello, dear ones - Lunar New Year, Power, and Folk Traditions: Perhaps you've seen memes in more recent years reclaiming the number 13 as a number, not of bad luck, but of the divine feminine...? What these memes may not make clear is that part of the reason 13 is associated with the feminine is there are 13 moon cycles in the year, as opposed to 12 solar months. So the new year celebrated yesterday on the new moon, by those who follow the lunar calendar, marked the end of the 13th lunar...

Hello, dear ones - Every where in the world there is evidence that at one point in time, in times of upheaval or before major decisions or transitions, people sought clarity and guidance from seers, oracles, shamans, medicine people or whatever the name was for their practitioners of divination. Why might they have done this? Because most of us can't see jack shit. Seriously. As we move through our day-to-day, we usually kind of suck at seeing the forest for the trees. Plus, there are way...
